If you already know how to log in to your Instagram account, you can link your Instagram account to SocialDog without following the instructions in this article.

Link your Instagram account (How to log in with Instagram)

Preparation

Before switching your Instagram account to a business account, please prepare the following:

• Facebook account
  • If you don't have a Facebook account, please create one on the official Facebook website .

• Facebook page
  • Regardless of whether you link your Facebook page to SocialDog, having a Facebook page is mandatory . If you don't have a Facebook page, please create one on the official Facebook website .

If you already have a Facebook page linked to an Instagram account, you cannot link another Instagram account to that Facebook page. Please create a new Facebook page (only one Instagram account can be linked to a single Facebook page).

Instructions for using the app and browser are provided below.

Switch your Instagram account to a business account using the Instagram app (recommended)

Using the Instagram app makes it easy to switch to a business account and link to your Facebook page at the same time.

1. Open the Instagram app on your smartphone. Also, log in to the Instagram account you want to link to SocialDog.

2. Open the "Profile" tab at the bottom of the screen (the tab where your user icon or profile picture is displayed).

3. Tap "Other" (the three-line icon) at the top of the screen.

4. Click on "Account Types and Tools" in the "For Professionals" section. *If "Account Types and Tools" is not displayed, please refer to "If 'Account Types and Tools' is not displayed" below.

5. Tap "Switch to Pro Account".

6. The Pro Account explanation will be displayed. Tap "Next" until the "Select the applicable category" screen appears.

7. A screen will appear asking you to "Select the appropriate category." Select the category corresponding to your Instagram account and tap "Next."

8. The "Are you a creator?" screen will appear. Select "Business" and tap "Next". *SocialDog does not support creator accounts.

9. The "Please verify your contact information" screen will appear. Review and change the displayed information, then tap "Next" or "Do not use contact information."

10. The "Share your login using Account Center" screen will appear. Tap "Next" .

11. Follow the on-screen instructions to log in with your Facebook account and click "Add Account". *The screen displayed may vary depending on your situation, such as if you have already enabled the setting to log in to your Instagram account with your Facebook account (Connected Experience).

12. Tapping "Next" will display the "Link Facebook Page" screen. Select the Facebook page you want to link with your Instagram account, and then tap "Next." * If you don't have a Facebook page, you can create one on this screen.

13. Once the "Set up a Pro account" screen appears, this process is complete. Tap "Close" (the X icon) at the top of the screen.

If "Account Types and Tools" is not displayed

If "Account Types and Tools" is not displayed in the "Professional" section, the necessary action will vary depending on what is displayed there.

• If "Business Tools and Administration" is displayed in the "For Professionals" section:
  • Your Instagram account is already a business account. Please check the section below titled "Check if your Facebook page is linked to your Instagram account."

• If "Creator Tools and Controls" is displayed in the "Professional" section:
  • Your Instagram account is a creator account. SocialDog does not support creator accounts, so you need to switch to a business account. Tap "Creator Tools & Controls" > "Switch Account Type," and then tap "Switch to Business Account." Also, please check the section below, "Check if your Facebook page is linked to your Instagram account."

If you're unsure whether your Instagram account is linked to a Facebook page, you can check it using the following method.

1. Open the Instagram app on your smartphone. Also, log in to the Instagram account you want to link to SocialDog.

2. Open the "Profile" tab at the bottom of the screen (the tab where your user icon or profile picture is displayed).

3. Tap "Edit Profile".

4. Tap "Pages" in the "Business Public Information" section.

5. If a Facebook page is already linked, its information will be displayed. If a Facebook page is not already linked, you can link one here.

Switch your Instagram account to a business account in your browser

If you are unable to use the Instagram app on your smartphone, please switch your Instagram account to a business account via your browser.

This explains how to do it if you have a Facebook page with the "new design." The procedure may differ if you have a "classic page."

Step 1: Switch your Instagram account to a business account

1. Open the official Instagram website and log in with your Instagram account.

2. Click "Other" (the three-line icon), and then click " Settings " in the menu that appears.

3. Click "Switch to Pro Account".

4. The screen "Please select the account type that best suits you" will appear. Select "Business" and click "Next". *SocialDog does not support creator accounts.

5. The business account description will be displayed. Click "Next".

6. The "Select Category" screen will appear. Select the appropriate category for your Instagram account and click "Done".

7. The "Confirm Contact Information" screen will appear. Review and modify the displayed information, then click "Save" or "Do not use contact information."

8. A screen will appear saying, "Your Instagram Business Account is now available." Click "Done."

Step 2: Link your Instagram account and Facebook page.

1. Open the official Facebook website and log in with the Facebook account that manages the Facebook page you want to link with your Instagram account.

2. Click "Pages" in the menu on the left side of the screen. If "Pages" is not displayed, click "See More" to display it.

3. This displays a list of the Facebook pages you manage. If you don't have a Facebook page yet, please create one on this screen first.

4. In the list of Facebook pages, find the Facebook page you want to link to your Instagram account. Click the "..." icon displayed on this Facebook page, and then click "Switch".
   

5. The Facebook page will appear. Click "Settings" in the menu on the left side of the screen.

6. The "Settings" screen will appear. Click "Linked Accounts" in the menu on the left side of the screen.

7. The "Linked Accounts" screen will appear. Click "Instagram" in the menu on the left side of the screen.

8. Click "Link Account".

9. A screen explaining how to link will appear. Click "Link".

10. The "Select Instagram Message Settings" screen will appear. Change the settings as desired and click "Execute".

11. The Instagram login screen will appear. Log in with the Instagram account you plan to link to SocialDog.

12. Once you see the "Instagram linked" screen, this process is complete.
